I contributed to the resurrection and preparation of the Network Security and Defence subject, which had been inactive since September. Despite not being formally assigned to this subject and managing substantial commitments with my own assigned subjects, I provided critical content-related quality assurance feedback to support the team's efforts.
My involvement was particularly valuable given the challenges the team faced. The subject had been built several months earlier in April/May, making it difficult for the team to recall the original design decisions and content structure. The build learning designer was no longer available, which complicated the reactivation process significantly.
My technical expertise proved instrumental in understanding and addressing complex content issues that arose during the quality assurance phase. I worked collaboratively with the team to ensure the subject met the necessary academic and pedagogical standards before it was ready for teaching.
This contribution reflected my commitment to supporting colleagues across Melbourne Online and leveraging my technical skills to strengthen the broader learning design outcomes. My willingness to assist with this project, despite competing demands on my time, demonstrated the collaborative approach I bring to the Learning Design team and my dedication to upholding the quality of our subjects.
A big thank you to Leigh Canny,
Chris De Maria and Kate Morgan for jumping back into NSD which has been asleep since last September to get the subject resurrected and ready for teaching. This has been a bit tricky as the build LD is no longer around and the subject was built last April/May ish so it's a long time to remember back.
Leigh has helped with the content related QA feedback despite not being assigned to this subject nor having anything to do with the build and being particularly busy with his own assigned subjects. We are lucky to have Leigh's skills to understand tricky content.
Thank you all for helping get this done.
