In my learning-design practice across Master of Cyber Security and Master of Artificial Intelligence subjects, I played a key role in establishing and advancing the use of LaTeX math typesetting to improve the clarity and professionalism of mathematical content.
Drawing on prior experience, I supported another Learning Designer in developing foundational training materials that introduced LaTeX principles, syntax, and common use cases. This collaborative effort helped build internal capability and ensured that complex mathematical ideas could be presented consistently across subjects.
I applied these principles extensively in the AI Planning for Autonomy subject, where algorithmic and mathematical concepts form the backbone of the curriculum. By integrating LaTeX-based notation into learning materials, I transformed dense, abstract content into clear, precise, and visually structured explanations that supported student comprehension. This included the presentation of formulas, planning operators, state-transition models, and optimisation expressions in ways that were both pedagogically effective and aesthetically aligned with best practice.
I continue to refine and expand LaTeX usage within the Canvas LMS, researching improvements in rendering quality, graphical extensions, and workflow efficiencies. This ongoing work aims to enhance the readability of mathematical content, explore richer visualisation options, and streamline the design of high-quality learning resources for mathematics-heavy subjects.

Leigh's quite across this ... Leigh's also really knowledgeable in Latex
