How-to Guides - Rebrand

When the Blended Learning Team changed it's name to 'Learning Environments Team', the how-to guides equired a rebrand. The rebranding built on he established style of the earlier Blended Learning style elements to further help to show that the guides are a recognisable product from the same team.

When Victoria University started development of its set of student help resources, I led the requirements-gathering effort to analyse student needs. Input from student stakeholders revealed particular requirements around engagement. Consequent decisions about content and style led to set of useful and engaging help resources that assist students to make the most of VU Collaborate.

How-to Guides - Teaching Activities

Victoria University's Blended Learning Team developed a set of guides to instruct teaching staff how to carry out some of the required tasks in the VU Collaborate LMS. I developed copy written by the team into visual printable guides. These guides complied with accessibility standards and adhered to university branding guidelines to be a recognisable Blended Learning Team product.

When the process of developing the same content into both a PDF and HTML format became unviable and a decision was made to stop PDF production, I accommodated users who prefer printable PDFs through developing the guides in HTML, then offering ‘printed’ PDFs for download. I investigated the best way to translate HTML pages into printable PDFs and developed a CSS solution to maintain the distinctive style of LET’s previous PDF guides.
