PSY5020 Family violence practice foundations: 'Daniel' animation

Build achievements

This animation was a collaboration between our learning designer and the graphic designer and me who developed the HTML/Javascript to make the interactive animation work.

The animation solution was a response to the challenge of presenting the content from the Say it out loud: Our Stories page in a more digestable and engaging way, and with consideration of trauma-informed learning design principles.

This is awesome Leigh and Callum! It looks so good and is a great way to capture attention for a Spark. Love it!

Speech balloons HTML graphic replacements (PSY5019 Addiction and Recovery)

To help students in Monash Online's PSY5019 Addiction and Recovery unit to understand substance use in a way that considers trauma-infomed learning design pronciples, I developed an solution to presenting the quotations from lived experience perspectives.

Instead of briefing the graphic design department to create new graphics for each quotation throughout the unit, I developed this HTML solution consistent to an established graphical style, enabling learning designers to insert the content into code.

This procedure was much more efficient and achieved a better and more responsive result.

These are great Leigh Canny! Thanks for working those up!

That's awesome!
that's really wonderful, you're a super star Leigh! I'd love to see how we can roll this out across other Monash units and perhaps other partners too

The reason I tried drugs was for something different. Pretty much that’s what it’s like with everyone; you just want to try new things, expand your mind.
The first time I used cannabis was with Mum’s flatmate. She said “can I give your daughter a joint” and Mum was like “yeah” cause they were really stoned and then Mum was like “no no” but it was too late.

My friends influenced me. They asked me to try it so I thought “ah yeah I’ll try it” and sitting around not drinking and smoking with them just made me feel like I wasn’t part of the group so I ended up doing it.
